COPRODUCTION MEETINGS BARCELONA is an initiative jointly developed by D'A Film Lab Barcelona and Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival, with the aim of supporting co-production and the development of new projects, promoting the circulation of films and Spanish production companies and Portuguese, and reinforce collaboration between both countries, through:
- The promotion of co-production opportunities between Portugal, Spain and third countries.
- Provide tools so that emerging producers can embark on international co-production projects.
- Demystify the legal, financial and cultural aspects of international co-production.
In a context where the industry is constantly changing, co-production with European partners is becoming increasingly necessary for independent film production. Therefore, this call seeks to attract emerging production companies, from Portugal and Spain, that have feature films in development or in pre-production, in co-production between the two countries, or that are looking for co-production partners. These Meetings will take place twice a year, once in Porto (November) in the context of Porto/Pos/Doc and once in Barcelona (April) in the context of D'A – Film Lab Barcelona. While in Porto the event focuses more on the development of projects, the Barcelona Meetings focus more on the development of producers.
The next edition will take place between April 5th and 8th, 2024, within the scope of D'A - Barcelona Film Festival.
Over the 3 days, the selected producers will participate in workshops, round tables and meetings focused on developing tools to demystify international co-production, improve opportunities for developing their projects in the international market, as well as getting to know other projects and producers looking for new alliances.
Interested producers must register by filling out the Form on the INCOPRODUCTION platform (you must register for free and access the D'A Film Festival profile)
