International Competition

Lois Patiño
Galician director of growing international reputation. He is the author of several short films and installations. His first feature film, Costa da Morte, awarded in Locarno, on the coast of Galicia, was widely publicized in the international festival circuit. 

Nuria Cubas
Filmmaker graduated in Madrid and Mexico, founded in 2015, and still directs FILMADRID, Madrid International Film Festival.

Mário Moura
Designer, lecturer and critic. Some of his texts were collected in the book Design em Tempos de Crise (Braço de Ferro, 2009). Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto.

Ivo M. Ferreira
In Lisbon, he began his technical and artistic training and, before going to China, he attended the London Film School and the University of Budapest. At the age of 18 he founded a small production company in Macao. The EXPO98 World Expo invited him to make a short film and since then he has continued his activity as a filmmaker. His latest and most awarded film is Cartas de Guerra.

Raquel Castro
Researcher, director and cultural programmer, director of the Lisboa Soa festival and the symposium Invisible Places, her work focuses on the sound environment, having been making different documentaries on this subject.

Directors with an extensive work in the field of the short film. Porto/Post/Doc 2017 dedicates a retrospective of their work in the educational project School Trip.

António Guimarães
He was born in Guimarães in 1951. In 1985, he founded the mythical Anikibóbó. Since 2004, he is the main responsible for the renovation of Passos Manuel, a cinema and bar of reference in the cultural life of Porto.

Eglantina Monteiro
Anthropologist, lives and works in Castro Marim; since 2008, directs the Companhia das Culturas. Between 1985 and 2000, she was Professor of Anthropology of Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. She did field work in the Brazilian Amazon, Guinea-Bissau and the Algarve. Since 1992, she works with colonial collections, developing a curatorial work on these materials.

Jean-Pierre Rehm 
Jean-Pierre Rehm is a film theorist, critic and, since 2002, director of FID Marseille – International Documentary Film Festival. He studied Modern Literature and Philosophy at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Paris/France. Jean-Pierre Rehm is an editor of Cahiers du Cinéma and a regular author of film and art reviews, exhibition catalogues, artist and filmmaker monographs. He has curated a number of exhibitions of contemporary art, both in France and abroad, e.g., in Egypt (Cairo Museum of Modern Art), the Netherlands (Witte de With, Rotterdam) or Japan (Yokohama Art Center).

Daniel Ribas
Born and lives in Porto. He is director and programmer of Porto/Post/Doc and also collaborates with Curtas Vila do Conde. Professor of film studies at School of Arts, at the Catholic University of Portugal and member of CITAR – Research Center for the Science and Technology of the Arts. He holds a PhD in Cultural Studies (University of Aveiro and University of Minho). He has written several articles and book chapters, especially on contemporary Portuguese cinema, and experimental and documentary cinema. Founding and current President of AIM – Portuguese Association of Moving Image Researchers.

Beli Martínez
Beli Martínez is a producer of films such as Arraianos (Eloy Enciso, 2012), Vikingland (Xurxo Chirro, 2011) and Jet Lag (Eloy D. Serén, 2013). She is graduated in Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, teacher at the Escola de Imaxe e Son in Coruña and in the University of Vigo. She recently completed a doctorate on non-fiction cinema in Galicia.
