With a vast educational program that includes a set of actions throughout the year and a special program designed for the festival, Porto/Post/Doc proposes the involvement of the entire school community and families in the discovery of new spaces for visual education and fun.

For the 2022 edition of the festival, which will take place between the 16th and 26th of November, we’ve lined-up several sessions for schools, with a wide range of films specially addressed to children of all ages. The sessions will integrate one of the films made by the students within the scope of the school workshops Porto/Post/Doc has been putting out, namely: Passos na Cidade directed by Ícaro and the students of the 10th grade of the Eça de Queirós Secondary School.

Developed specifically for the family audience, PPD 2022 will present a session that crosses cinema and artistic discovery: Microcosmo: O Povo da Erva, to be held on November 26 at 3:00 pm at Casa Comum - Reitoria UP. The atelier proposes that families get together in a relaxed session, where cinema and creation happen simultaneously. The proposal is for the discovery of the planet of the smallest animals that live among us, the insects, while they sketch, create, invent together a scenario of drawings, frames and fantastic creatures. The workshop will be guided by Inês Azevedo and Joana Mateus, from Casa da Imagem of the Manuel Leão Foundation.

This year's edition will also feature a special session developed in partnership with the FILMar project, which brings together a set of works by João Mendes and Leitão de Barros sponsored by the Executive Committee of the V Centenary of the Death of Infante D. Henrique. A session that aims to critically review the fascist cinema of that period and its maritime ideology, in order to combat its contemporary echoes.
