Highlights section is back at the festival. In this program, the festival features great narratives by renowned filmmakers and honors some of the greatest figures in the history of cinema and contemporary music. The program brings together a set of films, almost all of them in a national premiere, which invites the general public to the prime time movie theater at 9:30 p.m. at the Porto Municipal Theater - Rivoli, Grand Auditorium.
Special highlight for the opening and awarding sessions: on November 23 we screen Nick Broomfield's "Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love" and Kevin Jerome Everson's "Condor" solar short film about the eclipse that took place on July 2019, as seen from Chile; the following Saturday, November 30th, it's time to see "Dogs Barking at Birds", Leonor Teles' new short film, that marks the filmmaker's return to the festival, and also "Bruno Aleixo's Movie", by João Moreira and Pedro Santo. In addition, there is still to watch "Andrey Tarkovsky: A Cinema Prayer", directed by Tarkovsky's son, which brings together archival sounds and images of the filmmaker's intimate life. The screening takes place on November 27, Wednesday.
"Zé Pedro Rock'n'roll", by Diogo Varela Silva, about the Portuguese musician, and "Oh les filles!", by François Armanet, about the female figures of French rock, complete the section's programming with exhibitions at 28 and November 29, respectively.
The festival takes place between November 23rd and December 1st, in several venues of the city (Teatro Municipal do Porto - Rivoli, Cinema Passos Manuel and Planetário do Porto).
The 2019 edition of Porto/Post/Doc has the support of Câmara Municipal do Porto, Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual (ICA) - Ministério da Cultura, CVRVV - Vinho Verde and several other partners.
