Over the course of six months, the filmmakers travelled from land to land in search of popular expressions characteristic of the places. Irudi mintzatuen hiztegi poetikoa is a "Poetic Dictionary of Spoken Images", a map of five villages and their traditional sayings: an ethnographic record, a tribute and a way of preserving Basque identity and language.
