In the mangroves of Guinea-Bissau, in the 1960s, during the war, Amilcar Cabral implemented a programme of "guerrilla schools" in order to combat Portuguese colonialism. These nomadic schools became a symbol of resistance. Mangrove School revisits the history of these schools in a documentary fable "it's the whole body that learns."
Mangrove Scholl premiered at Cinéma du Réel festival.
This session also screens Waters of Pastaza directed by Inês T. Alves.
