After the spectral White Death of the Black Wizard (2020), Rodrigo Ribeiro-Andrade signs his second short film, a transtemporal constellation of black voices and presences, between the mundane and the divine. Solmatalua (Sol-Mata-Lua [Sun-Kills-Moon]) proposes a mystical itinerary where the ancestral strength of poetry, memories and black experiences in Brazil (of yesterday, today and also the future) is celebrated.
The film is presented for its international premiere, after having been screened at the Brazilian festivals É Tudo Verdade, Olhar de Cinema, Ecrã and Festival do Rio.
This session also screens Maputo, Nakuzandza directed by Ariadine Zampaulo.
