"Maputo, Nakuzandza" means, in Changana language, "Maputo, I Love You". Brazilian filmmaker Ariadine Zampaulo explores the contemporary narratives of the Mozambican capital by stitching together stories that unfold in a single day. A fragmentary portrait of a city, where documentary, fictional, performative, radio and fable elements merge in an urban symphony dedicated to the small events of everyday life. A polyphonic film-poem that is an ode to a city.
The film premiered at Olhar de Cinema festival, in Curitiba, and had its international premiere at FIDMarseille.
This session also screens Solmatalua directed by Rodrigo Ribeiro-Andrade.
