The Kraslava Bridge was the first to be built over the Daugava River, thus linking Lithuania and Belarus. The First Bridge is a film about borders and the difficulties faced by those who want to reach the other side. But it is also a film about the traces that time leaves on the eye, since it was filmed on Kodak Eastman Plus-X film from 1997 (and only now developed). A delightful example of the idiosyncratic cinema of Laila Pakalnina.
This session also screens Reason by Arturas Barysas-Baras (com Algirdas Prockys e Jonas Cergelis); S p a c e s by Nora Strbová e A Cry from the Heart, a Window, and Easter by Babylon’13.
