Actor Miguel Borges is preparing to play Ângelo de Lima, a poet and painter who from 1894 until his death (1921) would be successively interned in psychiatric hospitals. While in hospital, he wrote surreal poems that would be recuperated by Fernando Pessoa and Mário de Sá-Carneiro in the magazine Orpheu. Pára-me de Repente o Pensamento documents the process of the actor whilst living with the patients of Conde de Ferreira Psychiatric Hospital for two weeks (one of the mental hospitals where the artist had resided). There, he becomes part of the hospital’s therapeutic theatre group, whilst studying and working on the poem "Tédio" (Boredom).
