Award Ceremony 2022

One film, two women, one encounter: Nan Goldin, one of the most iconic American photographers and an activist against the pharmaceutical industry, and Laura Poitras, the political documentarian, winner of an Oscar for Citizenfour (about Edward Snowden). The result could only be explosive. All the Beauty and the Bloodshed is a portrait of an artist, but more than that, of a fight against the Sackler family empire. Dubbed the "Medici of the 20th century", the Sacklers made their fortune through promoting the commerce of opioids in the USA, being responsible for millions of deaths and lives of addiction.

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it received the Golden Lion.
