“Who knocks at the door” tells the story of an ordinary man faced with the manifest impossibility of paying back a debt. This powerlessness, together with the continual harassment from a merciless debt collector, brings him to a state of home seclusion. Slowly, his social life begins to erode around him, entering a complete collapse. The existence of this man is reduced to nothing beyond his demeaning subsistence.
