Three young Chinese, born after the Tiananmen protests in 1989, testify in three separate chapters their anguish and their ambivalent relationship with their country. Almost at the beginning of the documentary, partially filmed with mobile phones, one of the boys listens to a rock version of the International while driving by avenues that capitalism conquered without any kind of shyness. This tension between the grandmothers' China and the grandchildren's China never completely abandons the film. Opting for a cinematic language that combines elements of the classic documentary with some of the aesthetics prevalent in the new digital platforms, the two directors (also young) sketch a small portrait of a generation.
