The 27th edition of EURODOC begins in Porto, where the first residential session will take place from March 1 to 7. Over seven days, the 45 selected participants — representing 32 countries across 5 continents — will gather to launch an intensive eight-month programme dedicated to the development of documentary projects and career strategies. Twelve national producers will also join this group, to be announced soon.
The Porto session focuses on the creative and strategic development of projects, fostering collaborative work, group sessions, masterclasses, case studies and individual consultations. Throughout the week, participants will explore topics such as writing and development, European and international funding schemes, co-production fundamentals and strategic positioning in the marketplace.
The training is co-organised by Porto/Post/Doc, which acts as the local hosting partner for the first session, with the support of ICA – Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual, Turismo de Portugal, Turismo do Porto e Norte and the Portugal Film Commission. This initiative forms part of Porto/Post/Doc’s broader industry strategy, strengthening international networking activities and facilitating meaningful exchanges between national producers and international professionals. It further consolidates the festival’s role as a European platform for collaboration and professional development within the documentary sector, while reinforcing Porto’s position as an international hub for reflection and project development.
Following the session in Portugal, the programme will continue in Tallinn in June and conclude in October in Strasbourg, where participants will meet with 40 industry decision-makers.
EURODOC is co-funded by the Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme of the European Union, the CNC and PROCIREP.
