An initiative of Swiss Films, Tour d’Europe brings together a selection of Swiss productions and co-productions that have been nominated or awarded at the European Film Awards, which are being shown at various film festivals. The Tour d’Europe was conceived as part of the preparation for the European Film Awards ceremony, which will be held in Lucerne, Switzerland. At Porto/Post/Doc, the project presents a set of four feature films and three short films, selected in direct dialogue with the festival’s history and its 2024 programming. A good example is the feature film Taming the Garden, which was screened at the festival in 2021, directed by Salomé Jashi, highlighted in this year’s Focus. The animation Interdit aux Chiens et aux Italiens and the short film L’ambassadeur et Moi establish a thematic connection with the program Europe does not exist, I’ve been there, reflecting on the migratory and multicultural challenges that the European continent faces today. In line with this reflection on European politics and history, the selection also includes the documentary Putin's Witnesses, which was screened at the festival in 2018.
