Moving between intimate stories and collective memories, the Cinema Falado Competition brings together archive, fabulation and observation of everyday life to reveal different ways of inhabiting the Portuguese language. From the Cape Verdean diaspora to the memories of post-independence Mozambique, from a Roma family to a Rio favela and the landscapes of northwest Iberia, the films trace a plural territory of belonging, transformation, conflict and resistance.
