Mónica and Henrique met in Paris on a blessed evening in 2018 which, not long after, gave rise to the first sketches of what would become LANDA — a shared coordinate where Cape Verde’s heritage switches off the blinkers of the past and shifts into fifth gear somewhere between folklore and electronic music, a fiscal address shared with Luna do Mundo. A DJ from Tomar now based in Porto, it’s in the archipelago of mornas and funanás that his heart beats strongest, catching a ride on the Atlantic to explore various sounds of West Africa and fit them all into a simple pair of CDJs.
