The opening session of Come Closer introduces the structure and objectives of the programme, alongside two case studies that exemplify collaborative programming and cultural decentralisation in Europe. The first, presented by Cinemazero (Pordenone, Italy), focuses on the creation of a regional network for shared film exhibition and strategies for audience development. The second, led by Cineclube de Viseu, highlights the importance of partnerships and continuity models in strengthening the Portuguese film society network. The session concludes with a discussion moderated by Porto/Post/Doc, addressing the themes of year-round sustainability, audience engagement and cross-border cooperation, setting the foundations for the future of the programme.
