L'Alternativa was among the first festivals in Spain to put aside the label of "documentary", and then to dispense with differentiating fiction and non-fiction, so the theme proposed for the Carte Blanche, Fictions of the Real, is very close to us. We have chosen Ser e voltar and África 815 to make up our program, because both delve into the family environment, with very different ways of re-presenting it, but both are openly aware and explorers of the possibilities of re-elaboration of the real that the language of moving image opens up for them.
