WORLD PREMIERE
In Portugal he was a priest, in Brazil a revolutionary. Alípio de Freitas moved from Bragança to São Luis do Maranhão in 1957. He left poverty to live in the midst of misery. The 1964 military coup overthrew João Goulart, and made Alípio move away from the church and get closer to communists. Zeca Afonso made him a song, after he had been arrested and tortured in 1970. The director Tiago Afonso heard his memories and his ideals. Alípio keeps on fighting, but now he uses different weapons. (César Nóbrega)
