Porto/Post/Doc adopted as its mission to give visual literacy and to educate for cinema in an attempt to counter the current trend shortage of cinemas, creating and educating new audiences. Thus, we made an Education Department, named School Trip, in order to fill a gap in terms of Film Educational Programs. With this programme we aim to take cinema to the schools and the students to the film theatres. This initiative has as its main partner the Arts School of Soares dos Reis, where we made masterclasses run by relevant artistic fields tutors, articulated with the production of several short documentaries about the realities and history of Porto with the students of the Audiovisual Communication Course of the same school. The initiative also encompassed visits of students from various schools to our sessions and, from this edition, a jury composed entirely of secondary school students from various schools in the city.

Tiago Dias dos Santos
