To promote visual literacy and education through cinema is one of the maisn missions of Porto/Post/Doc. In this context, the Educational Department was created, entitled “School Trip”, in order to fill a gap in terms of Film Education Programs, and take Cinema to the schools and back. 

Soares dos Reis Secondary School of Arts it's the main partner, masterclasses where run by tutors of relevant artistic fields (Carlos Tê - writing and storytelling, Pedro Flores - realization, Aya Koretzy and Miguel Clara Vasconcelos – film direction, Daniel Ribas - writing and storytelling, Inês d'Orey - photography, Thomas Baltazer - edition), articulated with the production of 23 short documentary films about the realities and history of Porto, with the students of Audiovisual Communication Course of that school.

One of these masterclasses will be led by director Catarina Mourao on 28 and 29 November.

The program includes also visits from students to our sessions and, from this edition, a jury composed entirely of secondary school students, from four schools (Escola Artística Soares dos Reis, Escola Secundária Clara de Resende, Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo, Escola Artística e Profissional Árvore).

There is also a photography exhibition entitled – Students Self Portraits, projects about Porto - that will be held in Maus Hábitos – espaço de intervenção cultural on the dates of Porto/Post/Doc 2015, 1-8 December.
