The winners of the Industry Days of Porto/Post/Doc 2024 have been announced, highlighting innovative projects at various stages of development and celebrating the diversity of themes and approaches in contemporary cinema.
The Nebulae Award, presented within Arché Porto, was awarded to the Argentine documentary Los Grandes Ausentes by Azul Aizenberg, which revisits the disappearance of Mercedes Benz workers during the country’s dictatorship.
In the Industry Screenings section, two winners. O Feitiço de Areia (The Sand Spell) by Vanessa Ribeiro Rodrigues received the Festival Agency Award for its exploration of silences surrounding colonial memory through a road trip in Mozambique. The Sound Force Studio Award went to porto2000 by Matilde Camacho, a sensory journey reconstructing, through personal memories and archives, a version of Porto that no longer exists — or perhaps never did.
Within the Co-Production Meetings, three films were awarded. The Sound Force Studio Award went to LUNU BOK, do mar à terra (LUNU BOK, from sea to land) by Lucía Andújar, a sensitive portrayal of the struggles of Senegalese migrants in Portugal. La Chambre De Ma Sœur (My Sister’s Bedroom) by Pauline Doméjean won the DAE Award for its intimate approach to depression and recovery, narrated through voice messages exchanged between sisters. Finally, La Koreana (The Koreana) by Joana Moya received the Escola das Artes - UCP Award for its poetic combination of geology and dance in a mining landscape steeped in memory.
