This conversation starts from two cinematic perspectives that explore the emotional and social geographies of rave culture. Benjamin Muasya's Movement follows the queer collective Sirän in Istanbul's underground scene, showing how dance floors become spaces of refuge and expression in a city marked by transformation and repression. Holly Dicker's Rotterdam Rave Culture: 30 Years of Heritage revisits three decades of hardcore culture in Rotterdam, revealing how sound, space and community continue to define the city's identity. The session also includes the presentation of the book ‘Dance or Die: A History of Hardcore,’ Dicker's critical reflection on the evolution of hard dance through musical reinvention and social change. The conversation will feature Benjamin Muasya and Holly Dicker, will be moderated by researcher Ana Coelho, and will include the participation of Portuguese DJ NOIA.
