How to Become Nothing

by Porto/Post/Doc / 18 04 2017

"How to Become Nothing" is a journey through the California desert, documented on film. Mixes photographs, Super 8mm movies, music and texts to introduce us a false diary of a man's journey "that, rather than disappear, seeks to arrive at nothing, to be nothing." The project joins director Pedro Maia with musician The Legendary Tigerman and photographer Rita Lino to present us three different views of this story, having a technical book about creating a new identity as a starting point.

This Californian desert road movie is presented in a movie-concert format with live soundtrack by The Legendary Tigerman and real-time image manipulation by Pedro Maia in two sessions on May 6, at 7:00 p.m. 22:00, at Cinema Passos Manuel. The film is included in Há Filmes na Baixa!’s birthday cycle.
