Short Training for Education Professionals

The education programme includes training sessions aimed at education professionals, with the goal of combating audiovisual illiteracy in schools. These initiatives provide innovative pedagogical tools and promote cinema as a medium for intervention, reflection, and creation, addressing relevant cultural, social, and historical themes through accredited trainings led by experts such as Pedro Alves and Maria do Carmo Piçarra.

2025 – Chronos and Kairos: Time and Learning Through Cinema
Moderator: César Israel Paulo. Based on the documentary "Museum" (2025), this session reflects on cinema as a pedagogical tool and on the role of artistic methodologies in contemporary education, exploring chronological and transformative dimensions of time within the school experience, and fostering a critical, interdisciplinary, and humanised approach to learning.

2024 – From the Heart House: Places of Belonging and Identity in Cinema
Tutor: Prof. Dr. Pedro Alves. Focus on the construction of identity and belonging within the European space.

2023 – East Wind: Luso-Orientalisms in the Films of the Dictatorship
Tutor: Prof. Dr. Maria do Carmo Piçarra. Critical analysis of colonial narratives in the cinema of the Estado Novo regime.

2022 – Cinema and Pedagogy
Session based on "A Story of Children and Film" by Mark Cousins, with a debate on cinema and education.
