"Patrick", the feature film by actor Gonçalo Waddington that marks his debut in film direction, will join the Official Selection of the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film will compete for the top prize of the event, the Golden Shell.
The film, produced by the Portuguese Sound and the Fury and the German Augenschein Filmproduktion, tells the story of Patrick, a 20-year-old boy living in Paris with his older boyfriend who runs a teen porn site. During a raid at a party where he was filmed in a sex scene with a minor girl, he is taken to prison. The authorities then discover his true identity: Mario, a kidnapped boy in Portugal, 12 years ago. You are given the option to return to your family and collaborate in the investigation and dismantling of a pedophilia network. Waddington's story puts Patrick's two lives in conflict: on the one hand, the parties, on the other, the rural atmosphere of a homecoming.
The San Sebastián International Film Festival runs from 20 to 28 September 2019.
