Cinema with stars at Planetarium

by Porto/Post/Doc / 02 11 2018

New spaces are one of the news for the next edition of Porto/Post/Doc: in addition to Cinema Trindade, the festival spreads to the rest of the city and reaches Planetário do Porto - Centro de Ciência Viva.

Where normally stars are observed, films will be projected, and the stage for the galaxy will also be the stage for a very, very special concert, all on November 27th. Joana Gama and Luís Fernandes perform at 7:30 pm in a musical show with projection of immersive images of the universe. On the same day, at 10 pm, the planetarium also hosts the screening of the film Sarapanta (Chasing the Northern Lights), a documentary by Cristiano Saturno, about the boreal aurora phenomenon, shot in Alaska.

For the youngest, the festival has prepared a very special session: 10 short films will be shown in fulldome format, that is, in an immersive environment with the projections occupying the dome of the planetarium in a unique sensory experience. This session also takes place on 27 November at 2 p.m., 3.30 p.m. and again at 5 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased on the spot, on the same day. Porto/Post/Doc takes place from November 24 to December 2 in various areas of the city of Porto.
