Throughout the last editions, Porto/Post/Doc has developed a set of activities for professionals, aiming to promote Portuguese cinema and the productions that are exhibited at the festival, as well as to promote the contact between the different agents of the sector, in networking moments. This year we present a more ambitious program that seeks to make the festival a meeting point of ideas and knowledge among the various professionals in the film industry.

In this edition, besides the usual Fórum do Real, which aims to bring together the academic and civil community around moving images, we also present the Luso-Galaico Co-production Meeting, an initiative of the ICA - Cinema and Audiovisual Institute, AGADIC - Axencia Galega of the Cultural Industries, Xunta de Galicia and the festival. The meeting will take place on November 29 at the Porto Municipal Theater - Rivoli.

Also for the first time, the festival prepares Industry Screenings, that is, recently completed or post-production final movie exhibitions dedicated exclusively to programmers, distributors, curators, journalists, critics and other professionals in the film industry. This first edition will be carried out in partnership with the Culture in Expansion program of the Porto City Council.

The film and project development workshop Arché returns this year to Porto and with more news. In addition to the usual tutoring, this year carried out by Luciano Rigolini, participants (and all those who wish to) can participate in master classes by Marco Amaral (about color grading on November 27), Matías Piñeiro (about film writing on 29 November) and Tomás Baltazar (about edition on November 30). The masterclasses take place at 4pm on Selina. The final presentations of the projects developed at Arché take place on December 1st, at 2:30 p.m., at Porto Municipal Theater - Rivoli.

Laura Mulvey will also be in Porto to guide a workshop on film and feminism, taking place at Escola das Artes - UCP, from November 27 to 29.

Porto/Post/Doc takes place between November 24 and December 2 at the Porto Municipal Theater - Rivoli, Cinema Passos Manuel, Cinema Trindade, Planetário do Porto - Centro Ciência Viva, Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and Escola das Artes - UCP.  

The 2018 edition of Porto/Post/Doc has the support of Câmara Municipal do Porto, ICA - Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual – Ministério da Cultura, CVRVV - Vinho Verde, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Acción Cultural Española - AC/E, Cinemateca Portuguesa - Museu do Cinema and ArtWorks, among many others.
